- The title of this article should be iplbot. The initial letter is capitalized due to technical limitations.
"iplbot is the chief reason for no 4g support."

What is it?
iplbot is a bot that frequents #ipodlinux, used to help us help you with common support requests.
He/she/it is called upon in the channel starting a line with ~ or ` or iplbot:, or by including ~[something] within another line.
Only developers can use it in the channel, due to various amounts of abuse by mere mortals. Anyone can /msg it, however,
and you don't need a ~ prefix in /msgs.
How do I use it?
For the short version, /msg iplbot help.
iplbot knows about a bunch of things, which it calls "factoids". You can retrieve a factoid by simply typing its name. If no matches are detected, the closest found will be used. (This can sometimes be amusing, when the bot's definition of "closest" doesn't match up with yours...)
You can search the Wiki by typing wiki searchterm, or wikisearch searchterm to get the top five results. google searchterm works for google.
You can set a factoid for yourself, and yourself only, by typing yournick is foo. That will make `yournick display yournick is foo. If you don't want the "yournick is" part, use yournick is <reply>foo.
Karma
Everyone has a karma score. To commend someone else for helping you/developing something you want/etc., do good theirnick. If you don't like what someone is doing, bad theirnick. Don't abuse these powers or we'll put checks on them. Yes, we log everything.
Karma can also be influenced by some heuristics. We won't tell you exactly what these are, but suffice it to say that asking when 4g will be supported is bad, thanking someone is good for them, saying you're working on something is good, and trolling is really bad.
Your karma will be lowered if you abuse the bot, and lowered a lot if you try to abuse the sensitive functions.
Using iplbot in your own channel
Don't. It's a custom bot. There are many that work much better and more flexibly. Look up "javabot", for example.
If you insist, it's in SVN. Don't come asking us for help.
