Cannot connect to MPD
I'm using a 5G, and when booting up I get the error "Cannot connect to MPD". Things seem to be working fine, though. --Nintendorulez 14:09, 14 May 2006 (CDT)
The same thing happens to me on my 30 gig 5G, but aside from the fact that I can't play music nothing else is wrong. I figure I'll just give Rockbox a try. Neovanglist 14:02, 26 May 2006 (CDT)
- This is "normal" (although it would be better if the installer2 would add the missing parts). More software needs to be installed to play music with podzilla2's mpd module. See MPD -- Tempel 04:39, 27 May 2006 (CDT)
Can't see the installed Linux files
when I plug my iPod in to my computer, I only see folders for ipod_control, contacts, all the basic ones that I had before I installed Linux, but not /etc, /bin, /anything else that shows up in the File Browser. I tried accessing it via the Command Prompt, but it was still the same basic ones. Am I doing something wrong? Neovanglist 14:02, 26 May 2006 (CDT)

Local links not working well
Gumby, the links to local archors, like the one about "factory state", do not work well in Safari. Worst, if the anchor is already visible, the link may not change anything to the browser view. Instead, the links should be called what the topic is about, so that one knows what to look for. So, instead of "factory state" it would be better to say: "to the factory state as descibed under <topic name with link here>" Agreed? Tempel 07:13, 1 Jun 2006 (CDT)
- Sorry, it was late and I just copied the existing anchor. I don't like the many anchors either, but it keeps everything centralized. Thanks for fixing, this is a wiki after all. Gumby

Emergency Poweroff
Need people to confirm this method works for other generations, I know it works on a 5G but other generations might not have such luck. I added this section in response to a couple of forum posts relating to powering off an unstable installation of iPodLinux. rvvs89 03:08, 14 Dec 2006 (CST)
Apple Updater and Partition Table
If I use the Apple Updater to reset my iPod to factory defaults, will it re-do the partition table and remove my linux partition and add it back to the available space on the Fat32 partition? I created a 2GB linux partition and I want to make sure I can reclaim that space before I have the Apple Updater restore everything. TheMaxDaddy 13:41, 3 May 2007 (CDT)
- Afaik during the restore process the partititon table gets overwritten and the FAT32 is then reformatted (which deletes the entire ext partition). Der Papst
